Hey there,
The first day of Autumn is just one week away, so I thought I’d share some fun facts about this colorful season!
- Did you know that before we carved pumpkins, people in Ireland would carve turnips and potatoes? It’s true, they would carve faces into beets as well!
- Autumn is often called Fall, which is due to the fact that this is the time of year when leaves fall off the trees. Some humans say that if you catch a falling leaf, it can bring you good luck!
- The color of the leaves depends on how much sugar is in them. If the leaves are a really bright red, that is because there is a lot of sugars in the leaves.
I hope this newfound knowledge will help get you excited to carve pumpkins and rake leaves!
